Edith recently recorded a few tracks with her cello-playing sister Nicole at Little Kiss Studios in Albuquerque. Big thanks to James and Mancle for making it happen. We'll aim to get a track or two up on the site in the near future after they are vetted for public consumption.

We're wrapping up graphics for the new album, Days of Rain, doublechecking the proofreading and getting back to rehearsals. The new Bottle Tree Ranch is just about finished with construction - a few more weeks and we'll be into our new rehearsal space.

Remodeling the Ranch

Well, the Edith Grove & Bottle Tree Ranch is getting an efficiency upgrade. Edith is camping out in another location in the meantime, but the album is not forgotten! We've completed recording and mastering and are getting on to the really important stuff: photos!

We're throwing ideas around: circus theme? No, the Rolling Stones already did it. Everyone in pink leotards? No - just because Jimmy suggested it, doesn't mean we should do it.

We'll get it sorted out, but all those costuming decisions will likely push the album release into the early spring.

Thanks for asking! We've just finished up mastering and we're delighted that Brett Sparks from the Handsome Family (who recorded the album) was also able to sit in on organ on two songs.

We'll be moving along from studio work to album artwork and photos as soon as Edith gets back from cheering her little sister on as she plays with Marty Willson-Piper at the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival in San Francisco.

We've wrapped up mixing and are moving on to mastering. We'll be gearing up for a fall release of the new album, tentatively titled "Days of Rain."

Edith recently had a photo session with photographer Ed Taylor, look for some new additions to the gallery!

Mixing It Up!

We're well into the mixing stage on the new album. We take the occasional time out to sample from an unusual collection of rye whiskeys, but mostly we're spending time wearing out our ear drums in the noble pursuit of The Mix.

Thanks also to Cole Mitchell & the Curs for having us at their CD release party - we had a blast playing in the stunning room at the 3rd St. Arts space!

We'll be a little hush hush for the next couple months as we dig in at the Bottle Tree Ranch to get the recording ship shape for an expected Fall release.
